Volunteer
The York County Volunteer Association/Bargain Box couldn't operate without the dedication of our volunteers.  Volunteers are the strength of the ministry, both in muscle and in heart.  Without them, our outreach ministry would wither.  Volunteers accept donations, sort & price merchandise, and help with repairs and maintenance.  They also stock the shelves, help with sizing, tagging, and cleaning clothes, greet & assist clients, and help ensure a clean, safe environment.  There are also cashiers who help out at the checkout counter.

General Expectations
There are general expectations for new volunteers at The Bargain Box.  Ideally, we prefer volunteers who are willing to commit to a minimum for four hours per week over a three month training period.
In addition, it is essential that volunteers are reliable and have a strong commitment to the goals of The York County Volunteer Organization. Volunteers must possess good communication and organizational skills along with a positive and friendly attitude.

Training
The manager or assistant manager introduces new volunteers to policies and objectives of The Bargain Box.  Following a basic orientation, volunteers are then provided with on-the-job training by the store manager/assistant manager and staff.  Open communication is encouraged among all volunteers.  The manager/assistant manager is always happy to address any questions or concerns that volunteers may have regarding his/her assigned duties with The Bargain Box.
